April is Fair Housing Month

The Jackson County Board of County Commissioners had the adoption of a Fair Housing Proclamation to declare April as Fair Housing Month. The Board heard from local realtor Ann Jones on behalf of Central Panhandle Association of Realtors in reference to adoption of this proclamation.

Jones told the board as a local realtor, she knew the importance of housing in Jackson County. She told the Board that she had not lived in Jackson County her whole life but had been for at least a third of it.

Jones said, “We are just asking the Board of County Commissioners to accept this proclamation for April 2025. We have done this for over 50 years for fair housing.”

Commissioner Paul Donofro, Jr. made the motion with a second by Commissioner Ed Crutchfield to name April as Fair House Month. The motion passed unanimously.
